Vapour Barrier Sealant 94

Ameetuff ALB 94 vapor barrier sealant is a flexible fire-resistive elastomeric finish primarily used with low-temperature insulation to prevent migration of water and water vapor into the insulation system through butt joints.

It is recommended as a bedding compound for installation of cellular glass insulation. In this application, it helps protect insulation from abrasion and protects metal surfaces from corrosion, while supporting fire protection of thermal insulation. It is also used as a vapor barrier finish for fittings and is suitable for outdoor use where color retention, chemical resistance, and durability are required.

Vapor barrier sealant provides outstanding weather barrier and vapor barrier protection for most board stock thermal insulations except polystyrene. It normally bonds well to aluminum foil facings; test application is recommended to confirm adhesion.

Recommended use
Metal to metal duct joints, duct air flow insulation systems, thermal insulation joints and areas needing chemical and corrosion protection.

TDS mentions water vapor and air transmission as per ASTM E96 with value less than 0.01 perm.
